End-to-end solution: from scattered spreadsheets to a real-time dashboard

Some companies came to us looking for complete, end-to-end solutions: not a single workflow, but the whole system. This is one of those cases, where I got to do a bit of everything, from the database to the web application.

  1. Laptop with a spreadsheet and a calculator on a desk

One database out of many spreadsheets

The company had no CRM and no defined sales process, and the sales team's information lived in a pile of Excel files. The first step was to bring them all together and design the database from scratch, with its structure and relationships, so there was a single source of truth.

  2. Hands writing code on a laptop

Automated processes to keep the data up to date

A database is only useful if it is current. I built workflows that make it easy to get information into the system and keep it tidy, so nobody has to update it by hand.

  3. Phone recording a voice note on a desk

    Voice logging for sales reps

Sales reps are out on the road, not sitting in front of a form. With this system they describe each visit by voice and the information reaches the database already organised.

  4. Laptop showing a dashboard with charts

    A real-time dashboard

To see the information I built a web application with a React frontend and a simple backend that reads from the database, deployed on Azure as a Container App. The company's data, finally on one screen and always up to date.

The whole stack

What it gave me

  • Seeing a project end to end, from raw data to the screen
  • Designing a database from scratch
  • Deploying an application to the cloud with Azure Container Apps
  • Thinking about how the people who will use it actually work
